The iPhone 17 Pro is king of 5G and Wi-Fi thanks to this design choice
Apple is replacing an essential element in the camera unit.
Apple's iPhone 17 presentation is slowly but surely approaching. The Apple brand is expected to hold its keynote on Tuesday, September 9th, if it sticks to its usual routine. The iPhone 17s will undoubtedly be the star of the event, although other products will also be making their appearance. We already know the size of the four iPhone 17s thanks to our valuable source. Leaker Majin Bu reveals another "big" piece of information about the smartphones. Apple has reportedly designed a completely new antenna system for the iPhone 17 Pro.
The iPhone 17 Pro antenna would move from the chassis to the camera unit
Majin Bu, who is particularly active when it comes to discussing the iPhone 17, has made a new revelation about Apple smartphones. According to one of his sources, the Apple brand has chosen to reposition the antenna of the iPhone 17 Pro around the rear camera module. Apple's smartphones currently available on the market have an antenna along the edges of the chassis.

Majin Bu's source says Apple's choice is aimed at reducing interference from the chassis materials and thus improving 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. " Positioning the antennas around the camera module takes advantage of an area less prone to shielding and interference, improving performance in crowded environments and ensuring a stable connection when you're on the move, " the source writes.

The antenna architecture is inspired by that of the Apple Watch Ultra. This design choice would also make the iPhone 17 Pro sleeker by reducing the number of breaks in the frame. Eventually, it's possible that all iPhones will benefit from the same system. Remember that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max would also be distinguished by their orange color and their horizontal camera block. See you in a few days for the presentation of Apple's smartphones.
